Pastor Richard T. Davis Sr., PhD, is a dynamic preacher, prophetic teacher, and award-winning gospel artist whose ministry bridges the pulpit and the platform with excellence, authenticity, and power. He is the proud father of three amazing children—Richard II, Abigail, and Sunshine—and resides in Spotsylvania, Virginia.

Marked for ministry at an early age, Dr. Davis began preaching and leading worship as a teenager at The People’s Union Baptist Church in King George, Virginia. There, he held formative leadership roles such as Minister of Music, Youth Pastor, and Youth Director for the National Baptist Association, laying a foundation for a life of influence in both the church and the gospel music industry.

Dr. Davis pursued theological studies through Triangle Bible Institute, Washington Bible College, and Hampton University School of Theology. In 2025, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Practical Ministry from Cathedral Christian University in Louisville, Kentucky in recognition of his ministerial impact and contributions to worship culture.

Over the years, Dr. Davis has served in diverse ministry roles across Virginia and beyond, including Associate Pastor and Minister of Music at Emmanuel Faith Ministries in Colonial Beach, and Director of Creative Arts and Congregational Care at Strong Tower Church in Fredericksburg. He currently serves as Worship Leader and Musical Director for Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams Ministries, continuing to lead worship on international stages and at high-level ministry events.

He also served as International Minister of Music for the Jabula International Network under the apostolic leadership of Bishop Tudor Bismark and Bishop Hugh Daniel Smith, training global worship teams and facilitating powerful prophetic worship encounters across continents.

As a preacher, Dr. Davis is celebrated for his passionate delivery, prophetic insight, and teaching clarity. His ministry has birthed prophetic schools, training intensives, and equipping platforms that are reaching leaders, creatives, and congregations nationwide.

Musically, Dr. Davis is a multi-award-winning producer, psalmist, songwriter, and creative visionary. His discography includes his debut album In All Your Glory, followed by the nationally distributed Purity in 2012. He is the founder and CEO of R2D Music Productions, a top-tier gospel production studio in the D.C. area that has helped shape the sound of countless artists and ministries. Davis is currently a proud artist of the Universal Records Family. 

In 2019, his holiday project Christmas Rhapsody climbed to #5 on the Billboard Gospel Chart and earned Stellar Award and Grammy Award nominations, confirming his place among the industry’s top talents. His single Christmas Gift charted at #16 on iTunes Billboard, and he later produced Pierce the Darkness with Bishop Michael Pitts & Cornerstone Global and Waves: Fresh Wind, New Waves with Strong Tower Church—both of which received multiple Grammy, Stellar, and Dove Award nominations.

Dr. Davis is a long-standing member of the Recording Academy (Washington D.C. Chapter), where he serves as a Grammy U Mentor, investing in the next generation of music leaders. His accolades include Producer of the Year (IGGA Awards), Rhythm & Praise Song of the Year, 10 Rhythm of Gospel nominations, and Best Gospel Album at the Wammie Awards.

In 2023, Pastor Davis founded The Oasis Church – FXBG, a thriving, Spirit-filled church in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Known for its prophetic worship, authentic community, and bold preaching, The Oasis has quickly become a beacon of spiritual renewal and life transformation. Under his leadership, the church has grown into a vibrant, multicultural community rooted in the presence of God and a passion for people.
